327. Fiend Without a Face (1958) — A Torture Cinema “Adventure”

28 Jun

Facehugger brains, Canadian tourism, and the mountains of Manitoba, oh my! This month, Trish, Shaun, and David (our resident Canadian horror film professor!) talk about the 1958… ummm… classic? Fiend Without a Face! It’s bad, folks, I mean, it’s really bad… So bad that Shaun ends up defending the Transformers films in response. However, David lays down some horror film factoids and Trish appreciates the stupidity, so make of that what you will.

We hope you enjoy the episode!

I’m on Team David with this one. Fiend Without A Face scared the daylights out of me, back in the 1970s, when I was child, and it has remained a pleasure ever since. Although you will undoubtedly be mean to it, I feel the need to recommend 1966’s Island of Terror. Island of Terror was directed by Terence Fisher, starred Peter Cushing and Edward Judd, was produced by Richard Gordon (who produced Fiend Without A Face), and featured memorable, bone eating monsters: the Silicates.
