2022 Awards Season Eligibility: Our Things

It’s that time of year when everyone puts up their eligibility posts for stuff released in 2021. For our show, it’s pretty easy to identify where we’re eligible: Hugo Award for Best Fancast (finalists in 2014, 2019, 2020, and 2021) We may also be eligible in other award categories out there. If you think of any, put us up for it. Really, it comes down to this: if you liked what we did in 2021, nominate us for stuff in 2022! With that in mind, we’d also like to remind you that the people behind this show (and the friends we made along the way) are also eligible for things. Since podcasting isn’t just about “the show,” we’ve included as many of them as we could in the rest of this post. Go check out their things. There’s bound to be something interesting in there! Here goes!

2020 Awards Season Eligibility: Our Things and All the Things

It’s that time of year when everyone puts up their eligibility posts for stuff released in 2019. For our show and blog, it’s pretty easy to identify where we’re eligible: Hugo Award for Best Fancast (finalists in 2014 and 2019) Hugo Award for Best Fanzine We may be eligible for other categories and awards, too; it’s hard to keep track. As always, if you think our work in 2019 is worthy of an award nomination, give us a nod. We appreciate your support and love, and we hope you’ll stick around for the 2020 season! Of course, it’s not just about us. Our show and blog featured contributions from a lot of different folks. We’ve listed them here with links to their websites and notes regarding their eligibility for contributions to The Skiffy and Fanty Show or elsewhere. We encourage you to visit their individual sites, as they may release eligibility posts of their own or may have novels, short fiction, and other forms of content for which they are eligible. We’re 2019 Hugo Finalists!!! THANK YOU!

We really don’t know where to start. We’ve known for about two weeks now that was coming, but there was a small part that didn’t believe it. That instead believed it was some terrible hoax. Not that we don’t believe that The Skiffy and Fanty Show isn’t deserving of this, but rather that becoming finalists in 2014 was probably the one and only time it would ever happen. Yay for imposter syndrome!  We have to say, it’s a relief to see the official official announcement and know it is true (though to be amongst such amazing finalists is still bewildering!!) But then we looked at our team and knew immediately that we should never have doubted, because our team is AMAZING and deserves every bit of this nomination:

It’s that time again! The time when so many of us tell you what we created that is eligible for an SF/F award in 2019. And as always, we’re going to tell you about all the eligible things that this podcast and/or its hosts created AND all the eligible things we covered, including movies, books, comics, and more! 2017 might not have been the best year for the world, but it was a pretty good year for our little podcast. We added a few new shows, produced a whole lot of great content (thanks to Jen’s diligent work as producer), and brought on a whole lot of new voices. We also got this flashy new website (thanks, Jade!) due to our Patreon supporters being awesome. As we do every year, we like to share all of the awards eligible things created by us, our crew, and our guests. Where relevant, we’ve linked to individual creator’s eligibility posts on their websites. 2017 Awards Season (Hugos, etc.): All the Eligible Things from a Year of Skiffy and Fanty!

Last year, we were honored to have many incredible authors, bloggers, and others, either on the show or posting guest blog posts on our page and we love being able to share their work with you. Many of our guests and our members are eligible for awards so we hope you’ll take a minute to go over this list, just to make sure you don’t miss anything when you do your nominations (eta: the Hugo nominations aren’t due until March so you have plenty of time to get reading)!
