Book Review: Fathomfolk, by Eliza Chan
![Cover of Fathomfolk by Lisa Chan, featuring a partially submerged Asian-style city, an Asian water dragon, a kelpie, and two mermaids (or sirens?) playing musical instruments.](https://i0.wp.com/skiffyandfanty.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/Fathomfolk.webp?fit=664%2C1024&ssl=1)
I really enjoy the worldbuilding and the emotional journeys of the (third-person) viewpoint characters, and how well the various elements were woven together. This is Chan’s first novel, and it’s wonderful!
