This Katamari Feels Fundraisersish

(That’s probably because you rolled up nothing but interesting crowdsourced projects and fundraisers!)

Crowdfunding and fundraising are two awesome things that I think the internet does really well. This week, I’m sharing some things I’ve supported lately.

Kalaidoscope is an anthology of diverse contemporary YA fantasy stories.

Kaleidoscope: Okay, so yes, I am starting with my own project! Kaleidoscope is an anthology of diverse contemporary YA fantasy stories that I am co-editing with Alisa Krasnostein of Twelfth Planet Press. We’re putting together an awesome collection of stories with teen protagonists by authors such as Ken Liu, Vylar Kaftan, Sofia Samatar, Jim Hines, and possibly even you! Once we reach the $7,000 mark in our fundraising campaign, we’ll open up our submissions call to the general public! Go to Pozible and reserve your copy of Kaleidoscope now!

Help Eugie Foster Pay Her Medical Bills: Eugie Foster is an excellent writer, and I’d recommend her stories regardless of her circumstances. That said, she’s facing some really steep medical bills right now, and she needs sales more than ever! I bought a collection, and I hope you will, too! Read her detailed post about her situation here.

River-Con: River-Con is a new gaming convention scheduled for April of 2014 in South Bend, Indiana. They’ve reached their first funding goal, but now the stretch goals are wide open, and the con will get bigger and better the more funds they receive. You can reserve a membership by backing this project!

Ava Snow Battles Death is a web series featuring a kickass female lead.

Ava Snow Battles Death: If you’ve read Zack Drisko’s My Superpower post from earlier this week, you’ll already know about this exciting web series project. If not, you should go back and read that post, or just visit their project’s funding page and become a backer.

Help Fund My Robot Army: To end with, I present another anthology, which includes a story by one of our Skiffy and Fanty Team of Awesome, Keffy Kehrli! This anthology is edited by John Joseph Adams, and every story will be an unlikely Kickstarter campaign, told in the project pitch, stretch goals, updates, and comments. Also, the project video is a bunch of cute cats.

That’s 5 exciting projects! I have backed all of them! I think you should, too!
